I visit quite a few members who are citizens of other countries and while I can say a few odd things in other languages my skills are practically non existant. The google translater can sometimes be useful but other times is totally confusing. Perhaps you could leave me a few appropriate greetings/thank yous in languages other than english. I have a few to start off off. Hello - Guten Tag, Bonjour
Thank you - Danke Schon, Merci, Well that covers french and german !

I am not the best, I can get by in verbal Dutch and Spanish as there have been Spanish and Dutch workers in my local town over the years. (I occasionally help out in my parents bar/restaurant). I am pretty good at verbal and written French - c'est vrai! And I know some dirty stuff in German. That is about it.

The only language I can speak is English. I took several years of Spanish in high school and middle school but I only remember a few things.

Sorry, I can't add to your list, my language skills are not great. I can understand quite a bit of spoken German but cannot speak much.

I am totally rubbish at learning any other language and believe me I have tried.

My French is not bad, my German a bit rusty and I only have "restaurant" Italian & Spanish. Thank goodness for the "translate" button on the computer!

I only have my schoolgirl French. It did come in handy to book a table for dinner a few years ago at a restaurant where the staff only spoke French! Gx

I would not complain at all. I have learned to say please, thank you and goor morning on 5 different languages and can speak another language due to the fact that I am a foreigner. I often say to people that money can never make you as rich as the ability to speak another language. I know someone who can speak 6 different languages and also can read and write on them all. What a beauty that is all I can say. I wish I can do it just for one single week, then I would choose to travel around to use them all.
