OtherWith the current state of the economy - do you think things will ever get better?! It is hard to make ends meet - i'm only buying things i need and not any luxury items as i simply can't afford to. I'm hoping our gas & electric bill will go down as just had the bill and we are in credit (surprisingly!). Any savings greatly appreciated. It would be nice to just get a little bit of money in the bank, every time i get a few quid something always crops up! Lets hope the government stop giving the fat cats bonuses and start boosting the economy! What are you views??

I don't think it will be like it was, well at least not for a few years anyway, it is a struggle at times to balance everything and never enough spare more for luxury items, holidays, etc. I work full time and had to resort to repairing clothes than buying new ones. Yet my neighbours have 2 vehicles, went back to Poland for 2 weeks early this month, have a foreign summer holiday, always buying new furniture and items, yet only 1 of them works, so they claim working tax credit, housing benefit, etc to top their money up, as they have a kid they get child benefits too. I know the government is supposed to be cutting some benefits down, but they need to look into the people who are milking the system claiming working tax credits too, particularly when there is someone who does not work, has never worked, etc in the family and never has to look for work. Yet if its a single person (or a totally non working family) you have to sign on every fortnight, show you are looking for work, etc.

I sincerley hope that things do get much better,my husband has been laid of work since the begining of december and thankfully i had all presents purchased but this month i find that we have been really stuggling with the money situation, like yourselve i have had to start buying cheaper products, mainly store brand names, even though they do not taste as good,i have had no choice, because of the cold weather we have been having and my husband being in the house,i know the gas bill will be much higher.

Hi there, we may have to face the fact that this may take years to happen. There will be no quick fix solution to these problems and ecconomic growth will be slow at best. All we can do is our best to survive until things do begin to get better.
