Awhile back a friend of mine was managing a restaurant/billiards place downtown where I live. Right before closing time he went out to sweep off the patio near the sidewalk. As he was sweeping there was an elderly man walking down the sidewalk towards him. As the man approached him he hiked one of his legs and farted at my friend saying, "There sweep that up!" My friend was stunned. He didn't know what to say. Of course once he came over and told us about this we all busted into laughter. I can't help but wonder though what was going through that man's head to make him do that to a complete stranger.

That is gross. People are rude all the time. I had a woman bump into me one day at the mall and called me a B*tch. I just smiled and told her to have a nice day. She then looked at me with her mouth open. I think she was looking for a fight or at least a rude response back but when I was pleasant to her she didn't know what to do with herself.

I just finished watching a documentary called National Geographic: The Human Family Tree.This is from 2009 so you may already know about it. If you watch the corresponding video you'll get a better understanding of what the documentary was based on. It followed a group of participants from Queens, New York (although all from very different ethnic backgrounds) on their journey as participants in The Genographic Project. This real time scientific study is collecting DNA from participants all over the world in a five year project to map humanity's genetic journey throughout the ages. This could be your only chance to find out who your deep ancestors were (as a group not name specific) and the journey they took across the globe to get you where you are today. 2011 is the last year that scientists will be collecting data although research will continue to be done for years to come. I'm literally so excited I think I could throw up (yes I know I am a dork/nerd..whatever I don't care). I'm including a link for anyone that wants to know more about it. If this interests even one person then my job is done. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be apart of one of the largest scientific research studies done on this subject and the results will yield mountains of information about our species as a whole and help break down the racial barriers that our varying physical attributes have influenced today. Also, just to let you know there is a fee in which the proceeds go towards the preservation and revitalization of indigenous or traditional communities that participated in the beginnings of this project. Even if you don't plan to participate let me know what your thoughts are on the subject.

I've seen a lot of interesting user names here on Toluna. My story is pretty simple. After joining many sites over the years I've become tired of trying to come up with something unique and hate it when you get "user name already taken". Therefore, when I joined Toluna I simply put the first to letters of my then maiden name before my actual first name and viola you get meteresa. Also I thought it sounded like something Tarzan would say and that gave me a little chuckle. Me Tarzan you Jane :) So what;s your Toluna name story?

I one had a cat named bella so I choose bella and picked 79954 randomly. That was my name when I first joined. Then I got an email from Toluna saying they changed my name and added some numbers on the end. Not really sure why they did this but that is how I got my full screen name.
