Should cell phones be banned in educational institutions?
Closed

There is no educational benefit to having cell phones available in schools.

The argument for having cell phones available seems to center around parents contacting their children in case of an emergency. That can be done through the school. With the prevalence of text messaging and the distraction ring tones can cause in an educational setting, there is no justifiable reason I can see to allow them in a classroom.

Depends. If the student is staying at hostel or something - cellphones should NOT be banned.. as it will be very necessary.
