Milk is increasingly interesting in China
Closed

Today, China is the world’s second largest consumer of dairy products and countries like Germany and New Zealand are the main countries from where the Chinese-consumed milk is imported. However, a study from China shows that 92% of the country’s adult population are lactose intolerant.

Earlier milk was regarded as a food for children and elderly people in China, not as something an adult man or woman would pour on breakfast cereals. Nevertheless, today it is easy to get a hold of all types of dairy products, especially long-lasting UHT milk and drinkable yoghurts, in China’s supermarkets. And exactly yoghurt products are more easily digested due to the fermentation process breaking down the lactose in the product.

Since lactose free “dairy” products have not – yet – made a big entrance into the mainstream consumption patterns of the Chinese, it seems that the problem digesting lactose might not be as big of a problem as was once thought.

Do you or someone you know have problems digesting lactose / cow’s milk? Do you consume milk or dairy free alternatives to milk yourself or has your opinion on milk changed recently with the health and climate discussions?

Let us know in the comments below!

People need to be more educated about lactose tolerance. Many doesn't understand what does that mean and if they are lactose tolerance which might be key causes of many chronic diseases.

Lactose digesting at adult age decrease as compare with child age.
Milk is rich in calcium, which help for bone strength and bone. Lactose an sugar content in milk
On market some fortified product still gets calcium and vitamin D. But by natural composition which health benefit more than fortified product.
If someone has problems digesting lactose / cow’s milk please take small quantity and later Increase to make yourself a body tolerent to Lactose digest.
Other than dairy free alternatives to milk to myself a confidence level decreasing on my child age, I consume a glass of milk at every day.
Opinion on milk changed recently with the health and climate discussions. We have better topics rather than dragging milk and alternative to the natural product.
