Just what did we do before these ghastly and ill-named "social media" sites invaded our privacy? We used Newspapers, TV, Radio and were not deprived of anything. maybe it would be a very good thing if all those sites, which are used to groom children for sex and spread lies, misinformation and deliberate fake news such as that ex-US president excelled at, all closed down.

seeing MSM are only script readers,, i go direct to the website of genuine news, no paid operators for OZ GOV, and dont allow the BS game between FB and GOV< it is all about money>>>> AND there are plenty of ways to get and verfiy news. and MSM or FB are not the platforms

I go to ABC, SBS, BBC direct websites. I don't understand why people want to use facebook for news - its such a busy looking website and often doesn't work properly where I live. I dislike facebook intensely, but know it is useful to find people or join groups, but I don't think it is helpful to get news from and its owner is a greedy mogul as if he doesn't make enough money from advertisng already. Stuff facebook I don't care if it disappers, someone else will build another website which can do the job.

My mother is concerned, as in Tasmania, our Premier and even state emergency services use FaceBook for live streaming, especially during COV19, at least they do not cut off other State Premiers on major news stations, like they do for our Premier. So this may even stop live streaming for important updates and safety. Time our Government now hits FaceBook with a multi million tax bill, for all the taxes that they had not paid in Australia
